Inspired by the Blue Oyster bar from the Police Academy films, the wooden shack is decorated with fairy lights, with the 'Blue Oyster' sign painted on in blue. The bar was built last weekend on a plot of land owned by Russian president Vladimir Putin in the remote Åland archipelago, a small group of islands that lie between Sweden and Finland. Comedy duo Far & Son have built a makeshift gay bar to protest against Russia’s anti-gay laws.
